This is a mind that is stayed on God, dependent on God, and focused on God. Our key verse uses several descriptions in the different translations to characterize such a mental condition. So when there’s so much to do, how do we keep ourselves from getting overwhelmed? How do we find that “perfect peace” Isaiah talks about? By fixing our minds on God. It’s easy to let ourselves get distracted by the chaos of life. It all comes down to what we allow our minds to focus on. In the midst of all of that chaos, how on earth is it possible to have even a moment of peace? Sometimes I feel like I’m stretched so thin that if I get pulled in any more directions, I’ll tear right in half! Have you ever felt that way-that there’s too much to do, too many people to please, too many stresses and obligations? With so much out there vying for our attention, it can be easy to let our minds dwell on our ever-growing to-do lists. How long has it been since you’ve truly been at peace?
